Improve Shifting Precision

OEM chassis mounts are typically focused on minimizing NVH and cost, but this presents a prime opportunity for performance enhancement. Designed to complement the GrimmSpeed Pitch Stop Mount, these Transmission Mounts significantly increase drivetrain rigidity for improved shifting and driver confidence during spirited driving.

 

 

The main aspect of this upgrade consists of 75A durometer polyurethane bushings. These bushings prevent the transmission from shifting during high torque while also reducing excessive noise and vibration. It is designed to fit perfectly with nearly all AWD Subaru manual transmissions, with a slight variation between 5 and 6 speed models that can be easily fixed using the included 5-Speed Adapter Spacer. This spacer is placed between the stainless steel bracket and transmission cross member.

 

 

The installation process is made effortless by utilizing an OEM-inspired press-fit stud in the stainless steel bracket. This effectively reduces the likelihood of misalignment or damage to any hardware. The Grimmspeed Transmission Mount comes fully assembled and is equipped with all necessary mounting hardware.

 

Built For Performance:

From the factory, Subaru offers multiple levels of their own transmission mounts, with the softest being the WRX, OEM STI in the middle, and then Group N as their stiffest option. But even the Group N leaves a lot of control left on the table.

 

With the 75A durometer bushings included in these Transmission Mounts, these mounts are 2 times stiffer than Group N mounts, making them 5 times stiffer than stock STI mounts and a remarkable 16 times stiffer than stock WRX mounts. This results in enhanced transmission and drivetrain control compared to any factory option.

 

While the GrimmSpeed Transmission Mount is built for track use, it maintains a comfortable ride for daily driving. Through extensive testing of various bushing stiffness levels, we have determined this to provide the optimal balance for on-road usage, with minimal increase in NVH during regular driving.

The GrimmSpeed Transmission Mount is only compatible with AWD Subaru transmission, meaning they are not compatible with the RWD Aisin AZ6 transmission found in BRZ/FRS/86 models.
