After one year of the release of the VB version of the Subaru WRX, the aftermarket was starting to discover ways to really execute the styling of this controversial model. It was as if Subaru wanted to put hints of overlander into the new WRX with the black fender flare and body trim with those taillights that are always open to discussion. However, the aftermarket combined their superpowers with owners and enthusiasts to give the VB a proper makeover. It was soon discovered that 18x9.5 wheels with a 38-40mm offset and 255/35/18 tires were the right fitment. A 1.5-inch drop on a quality set of coilovers such as the Faction Fab F-Spec improved the stance and the handling, and an OLM S-Style Carbon Fiber Rear Wing really changed the dynamic of the latest WRX.
For 2023 WRX performance gains, a proper cat-back exhaust system such as the Invidia Q300 allowed the exhaust gases to escape quickly, while a PERRIN Cold Air Intake allowed the turbo to breathe freely. But remember a COBB Accessport will be needed to properly fine tune your upgrades and modifications. With modern amenities, an affordable base price, with an all-wheel-drive turbocharged powertrain, the VB Subaru WRX makes for one of the best purchases in today’s turbocharged market.
