It has been a few years since Subaru released the latest version of their AWD rally-inspired supersedan. The 20th anniversary of the WRX now known as the VB model, features a redesigned FA24F which is a 2.4-liter flat-four that produces a very responsive 271 horsepower and 258 LB-FT of torque. With modern amenities, an all-wheel-drive turbocharged powertrain.
Two years after the release of the VB WRX, the aftermarket had driven these models right off the showroom floor and straight to their shops where the modding had begun. Enthusiasts discovered that the perfect wheel fitment is an 18 x 9.5 wheel with a 38-40mm offset and a 255/35/18 tire. And they quickly discovered that the VB WRX responds well to common upgrades such as a COBB Accessport, an intake, and a cat-back exhaust system for more power.
