The 2016 WRX is the second year of from the release of the VA model where Subaru released the new FA20F engine that debuted in the 2015 model. This meant that the aftermarket had a year to rush out the latest mods and upgrades to make these cars faster, handle better, with more aggressive styling. With 268 HP and 259 LB-FT of torque, the WRX came out of Subaru’s factory assembly lines with plenty of power, and it was mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with a CVT automatic transmission option to accommodate a broader market. With all the modern technology at the time, beneath the skin was still traditional WRX DNA.
COBB Tuning wasted no time during the first year of production developing their Accessport to smooth out your typical upgrades for the WRX. Because of the FA20F engine design, the downpipe had a unique design that you can see on the Invidia Catted Stainless Steel Downpipe. Enthusiasts referred to the downpipe as a J-pipe because the of the design, and they loved to combine this with Invidia’s R400 Quad Tip Cat-Back Exhaust for more power and sound. A great combination that makes the VA WRX a great car to enjoy throughout all seasons of the year with its advanced all-wheel-drive technology.
