The 2007 Subaru STI would be the last version of the STI’s GD chassis code. It had been a wonderful run as Subaru’s rally-inspired supersedan dominated the markets among rally enthusiasts, grassroots racers, and general car lovers alike. The most desired models by collectors had the pearl white exterior with the gold BBS wheels, with the remaining blue STI interior.
By this time, the aftermarket had (3) years to go nuts with the STI. For the exterior, a quality front lip such as the STI V-Limited front lip added a nice touch, while a set of Rally Armor Mud Flaps protected the paint from getting sandblasted while having fun on dirt or gravel. Popular engine mods such as the COBB Tuning Accessport, HKS Carbon Ti Cat-Back Exhaust System, and the SubiSpeed Limited Release Top Mount Intercooler added more power. While the GrimmSpeed Air Oil Separator protected the engine by preventing those harmful oil vapors from entering the intake system. Coilovers such as the Faction Fab F-Spec gave the chassis a defined stance, while Stoptech Street Select Brake Pads made for excellent OEM replacements.
The EJ25 would remain as the heart of the STI while keeping the same 6-speed manual transmission that had a mechanical center differential, with limited-slip front and rear differentials. With Subaru making preparations for 2008, the GD chassis STI will always remain as a classic for rally lovers on a worldwide scale.
