The 2021 STI was the last year of production for the VB STI, and thus far, the last remaining model for the US markets. This paused the 17-year run for the legendary EJ25 that remained as the heart of the STI. In Japan at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon, Subaru showcased a Special Edition WRX S4 STI Sport prototype that had been based on a JDM WRX S4 Sport Japanese model. It is currently rumored that the next generation of STI will be an all-electric version.
If that is confirmed, the 2021 STI will be the last combustion engine design (for now). Even still, the 2021 STI is still a rally-inspired AWD sedan that packs 300+ HP and has a rich performance aftermarket support system to make this car handle better, drive faster, while looking and sounding more aggressive. The Tomei Expreme Ti Cat-Back Exhaust features full titanium construction that will save a great amount of weight, while adding more horsepower and torque. The Faction Fab FL V2 Coilovers have a wide range of adjustment that include height, front camber settings, and damping stiffness to execute that preferred stance. And you can add more downforce by installing an APR Carbon Fiber Wind Splitter to reduce lift at higher speeds, while making your STI transform into race car mode.
