Head gaskets are one of those maintenance items that Subaru owners will eventually have to face at some point. These head gaskets feature multi-layer steel (MLS) technology that provides optimal surface and combustion chamber sealing as they are torqued down. The top and bottom layers feature a Nitrile Rubberized Coating that helps accommodate a rougher RS surface finish of up to 50 microinches, and it acts to better seal the non-critical areas of the gasket. To reinforce the sealing the gasket edge has a folded stopper layer that allows for optimal sealing for the combustion chamber.
