DM-2 Shifter Key Innovations

At the heart of the DM-2 is its steel linkage system with 3-piece rod ends, eliminating cable slop and ensuring lightning-fast, stress-free shifts even under hard driving. A billet aluminum centering mechanism with twin detents and a ceramic-coated torsion spring guarantees perfect gear alignment and eliminates missed shifts. The tool-free adjustability of the shift knob height allows drivers to raise or lower the knob by over an inch using only the leather boot collar, with no tools or disassembly required. Additional features include a cable-free reverse lockout that integrates directly with the 5th and 6th gear stop for added precision, as well as a reinforced 1st/2nd gear stop for an impressively firm feel. Installation is simple, as the DM-2 bolts directly into place without modifications or special tools, and every unit is hand-assembled and tested to uphold the highest quality standards. Best of all, the DM-2 remains fully compatible with OEM Subaru shift knobs, giving drivers flexibility without compromise.

 

 

DM-2 V2 release notes:

• Reverse Lockout: The entire reverse lockout system has been consolidated into the housing of the shifter, eliminating the reverse lockout cable and creating a smaller form for the DM-2.
• Non-adjustable 5th/6th/reverse Shift Stop: No adjustment necessary for the shift stop on the passenger side of the shift pattern. Shift stop is integrated onto the u-joint, saving space, install time, and also is a more robust system with increased feedback when engaging the stop.
• 1st/2nd Shift Stop: Shift stop is easier to adjust and integrated onto the housing of the shifter saving additional space and time during install. Rigidity is also increased to give an even firmer feel when engaging the stop.
• Centering Mechanism: Ceramic coating has been added to the torsion spring and hardware, along with an updated OEM cable connection that eliminates a step in the install process by self-securing the OEM cable when it is installed.
• Compatibility with the DARKMATTERX Billet Shift Trim Kit Subaru WRX (2015-2021): A revision has been made on the DM-2 linkage which now allows compatibility for the Billet Shift Trim Kit to be used in conjunction with the DM-2 V2 Shifter.
