Digressive Valving, Explained

The Pro Sport Digressive Series is designed to give motoring enthusiasts exceptional handling characteristics while still maintaining a balanced ride. Digressive valving works by providing higher resistance at low shaft speeds, the kind of movement you get from turning, accelerating, or braking, which sharpens handling and chassis control during normal spirited driving. At high shaft speeds, like hitting a pothole or a sharp bump, that resistance tapers off to allow more compliant shock absorption, keeping the ride from becoming overly harsh over rough pavement. That combination is what lets this design behave differently depending on the situation, rather than applying the same damping resistance regardless of what the road is actually doing.

A Genuine Middle Ground for Daily Driving

That combination gives you better control and reduced body roll for spirited driving while still absorbing larger impacts more comfortably than a linear-valved setup would. The tradeoff is a firmer ride at low speeds than stock, and some added road noise or vibration compared to an OEM comfort-tuned suspension, so it won't feel as plush as a factory setup. It's best suited to enthusiasts who enjoy spirited driving, autocross, or occasional track use but still want a tolerable daily ride; if comfort is the higher priority, a progressive or linear valved coilover would be the better fit instead.
