This is not the first generation WRX to have a spot in the rear bumper for a rear fog. As with previous generations, USDM vehicles have a plastic cap which plugs up the hole where it would go though. This also fits the 2013+ Crosstrek.
If you want to add a genuine Subaru JDM rear fog light to your 2015 WRX / WRX STI, just order this kit. All mounting hardware is included. Optionally, we can add T tap connectors, a pre wired extension, and modify the OEM harness it comes with for ease of installation.
You can install this to come on with your parking lights OR wire it up to come on as a 4th brake light.
NOTE: The connections are made inside the vehicle so the T tap connections should not be exposed to the elements.
The OEM harness has plugs which will not be present on many vehicles. We've gone ahead and replaced these plugs so that you can get this kit installed with ease. The connectors also allow you to quickly disconnect the JDM fog in case you need to pull your tail light out.
Ultimately this will save you time and money if you didn't already have the hardware at home.
If you want to wire this so that it only comes on with the fog lights you'll find yourself using a pretty long run of wire.
We've made a quick connect kit which will split the wires to the passenger side fog light. Just run the wire under the driver's side fender liner, into the vehicle, and along the door sills back to the trunk of the vehicle. If you've purchased our modified rear fog light harness, it'll plug right in. Just place the supplied socket over the wires and snap everything together.

The plug for the female end is not pre-attached so that the wires can easily be run through grommets in the firewall area.
For those obsessed with LED lighting technology and bright lights, the OLM replacement bulb is sure to satisfy. This low current draw, high output bulb will give this housing a crisp red appearance when lit.

Installation is simple. Follow the diagram for installing the housing. This is an actual diagram from Subaru.
Wiring
Use the driver's side tail light harness to provide power to the JDM fog light. The following lists which wires on the tail light harness you can use to tap for a power source.
Wiring this to the tail light for use as a fog light will result in the light being on whenever the parking lights or low beams are on. There are grommets under the carpet which are covered with little stickers which you can use to pass the harness from the outside of the vehicle to the inside.
The bumper cover does not need to be removed in order to install this product. Simply undo the fasteners at the bottom of the bumper cover so you can gain enough access to knock out the factory plastic cap.
We highly recommend covering the lens of the new fog light casing with painter's tape or something similar during installation. This will prevent scratches while you maneuver it into position.
