Slightly disappointed

don’t know why it says such a long time for installation. Took me an hour and a half to install this completely with everything put back together. Disappointingly there isn’t much of a difference. I could say the shifts are a little more crisp but not really shorter. I expected more from this and almost wish I went another route.

Not a significant difference

For some crazy reason this took me more than 5 hours to install because I had crazy difficulty removing my stock shifter which may be unique to my own situation. The pressed in bolts from the factory were not fixed and spun when I tried to loosed the nuts on the bottomside of the shifter.

Anyways, the shifter feels nice but I wish there was really a significant difference. Be careful, if you place it next to the stock shifter, you might confuse yourself and not know which shifter is the STI shifter. Other than that, it's an alright upgrade.

Shifts Feel Better

The stock shifter on my '16 WRX felt like crap. Installed this shifter and it was definitely worth it. Make sure you have PB Blaster or WD40 for the nuts underneath that are stuck on. Definitely have multiple lengths of extensions for the hard to reach nuts. Shifts into 1st, 3rd, and 5th feel much shorter and 2nd, 4th, and 6th feel slightly shorter. I'm surprised Subaru wouldn't just make this the stock shifter. This one feels a lot better than what comes with the car.
