The presence of oil within the intake tract can have various detrimental effects. Primarily, it forms a coating on the internal components of the intake system, intercooler, and associated piping. This coating has the potential to accelerate the deterioration of rubber or silicone hoses, leading to connections that may fail over time.

Once oil infiltrates the intake tract, it directly enters the intake manifold, subsequently finding its way into the engine's combustion chamber. The introduction of oil into the combustion chamber gives rise to a range of issues, including detonation and preignition, increased emissions, smoke generation, power loss, reduced fuel efficiency, and in severe cases, catastrophic engine failure that necessitates costly repairs.

INSIDE THE AOS:

Positioned strategically on one side of the AOS body, the inlet hoses contribute to the creation of a swirling motion within the system. As the gases enter, they circulate along the inner walls of the AOS body, guided by a series of baffles. These baffles serve a dual purpose of collecting the oil while allowing the gases to escape from the top of the AOS. Importantly, the OEM PCV operation is maintained, generating a vacuum within the engine that assists in efficiently evacuating the PCV gases through the AOS assembly.

HEATED TO REDUCE CONDENSATION BUILDUP:

The IAG Street Series Air Oil Separator incorporates an innovative heating system that effectively tackles a common issue found in inferior catch cans. To address this, we have integrated the AOS with the vehicle's cooling system, allowing the transfer of the engine's heat into the AOS. This proactive approach provides a solution to the problem of condensation formation within cold hoses when hot PCV gases pass through them. Over time, this condensation combines with the oil in the system, resulting in the formation of sludge. However, by heating the AOS body to match the engine's temperature, the occurrence of condensation and the subsequent buildup is significantly reduced or eliminated entirely. This ensures a cleaner and more efficient operation of the AOS system, promoting optimal performance.
