UNLEASH THE POTENTIAL OF YOUR FA20 WRX
Tailored for modified FA20 DIT Subaru WRXs seeking heightened performance, the IAG 800 Short Block offers a robust solution to withstand amplified cylinder pressures generated by increased boost pressure and larger turbochargers. Featuring IAG's exclusive closed-deck cylinder support system, this short block reinforces the OEM FA20 cylinder walls for enhanced durability. Equipped with IAG Spec H-Beam forged connecting rods, the IAG 800 short block ensures reliable performance under demanding conditions. Furthermore, head gasket sealing is reinforced with an o-ring and 1/2" head studs to provide additional compression, making it an optimal choice for enthusiasts aiming to maximize the potential of their full bolt-on and upgraded turbo WRXs.
CRAFTED WITH 100% NEW COMPONENTS
The IAG 800 short block commences with pristine Subaru FA 2.0L engine case halves meticulously engineered for enhanced oiling. These case halves are then meticulously machined and assembled in our cutting-edge Haas VF-4SS CNC mill to seamlessly accommodate the IAG Closed Deck Inserts, effectively converting the block into a sturdy deck. Distinguished by unique inserts featuring small passages facilitating essential coolant flow to the deck surface, the case halves undergo precise CNC machining, incorporating O-ring receiver grooves around the bore surface and being drilled and tapped to accommodate 1/2" head studs, significantly minimizing head gasket failure risks under high cylinder pressure conditions. Subsequently, the short block undergoes Deck Plate boring and honing to 86.1mm utilizing our in-house Sunnen SV-30 cylinder hone, enabling IAG's proprietary honing process to establish tighter piston-to-wall clearances for smoother engine operation. Following meticulous measurement, assembly ensues utilizing a new 2020 Subaru 2.0L WRX crankshaft, meticulously matched to OEM or King main bearings. IAG-Spec H-Beam rods featuring ARP2000 rod bolts are deployed, alongside King or ACL rod bearings, with the case halves sealed utilizing new OEM case bolts and sealant. Ultimately, IAG-Spec 86.1mm forged pistons, complemented by an OEM oil plug, complete the short block assembly, culminating in uncompromising performance and reliability.
ENHANCED OIL PASSAGES FOR OPTIMIZED OILING
Efficient oil circulation is paramount for optimal performance and reliability. It's widely acknowledged that Subaru's OEM cases often fall short in terms of oiling efficiency. To address this issue, our skilled machinists meticulously examine and enhance the internal oil passages of every new OEM case incorporated into the IAG 800 Short Block. This meticulous process ensures not only proper oil flow but also enhances overall reliability, guaranteeing peak engine performance.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE FORGED PISTONS, ENGINEERED FOR BOOST
The IAG 800 Short Block is equipped with IAG Spec JE FSR 86.1mm Forged Pistons, meticulously crafted from 2618 T6 Alloy for exceptional strength. These pistons are purposefully designed to withstand elevated cylinder pressures typically associated with increased boost levels. FSR forgings not only minimize mass and friction-induced wear but also ensure robust durability. Employing an innovative asymmetrical skirt design, these pistons significantly reduce weight while maintaining structural integrity. With smooth-flowing radii on the domes and dishes, the design optimizes flame propagation for enhanced combustion efficiency. To further reinforce the assembly, the pistons are affixed to the rods using .905 x 2.250" x .210" wall carbon steel wrist pins secured with Tru Arc locks.
