ENGINEERED FOR ENHANCED DURABILITY
Tailored for both stock and modified FA20 Subaru BRZs requiring a robust short block to withstand heightened cylinder pressures resulting from modifications or aftermarket turbo kits, the IAG 600 Short Block offers a fortified solution. Boasting IAG Spec H-Beam forged connecting rods, this short block ensures superior strength and resilience. With upgraded connecting rods and race bearings, it effectively accommodates the added engine load generated by aftermarket turbochargers or heightened boost levels, surpassing the reliability of OEM rods and pistons commonly found in stock short blocks.
CRAFTED FROM ALL-NEW COMPONENTS
Each IAG 600 Short Block begins with pristine FA20 BRZ/FT86 2.0L, 86mm stock bore engine case halves as the standard foundation. These case halves undergo meticulous boring and honing to 86.1mm specifications before being precisely measured and assembled with a new 2015+ Subaru 2.0L FA20 crankshaft, expertly paired with ACL or King race main bearings. The IAG 600 Short Block boasts IAG Spec H-Beam Connecting Rods with ARP2000 rod bolts, complemented by ACL or King race rod bearings. To ensure a secure seal, the case halves are fastened with new OEM main case bolts and sealant. Finally, IAG Spec JE FSR 86.1mm Forged Pistons are meticulously chosen, measured, and installed to complete the short block assembly.
ENHANCED OIL PASSAGES FOR IMPROVED OILING
Sufficient oil flow is paramount for both performance and reliability. Acknowledging the shortcomings of Subaru's OEM cases in terms of oiling, our team of machinists meticulously inspects and enhances the internal oil passages of every new OEM case employed in the assembly of the IAG 600 Short Block. This meticulous process guarantees optimal flow and enhanced reliability, addressing any deficiencies present in the original design.
FORGED PISTONS ENGINEERED FOR TURBOCHARGED PERFORMANCE
In every IAG 600 Short Block, you'll find IAG Spec JE FSR 86.1mm Forged Pistons, meticulously crafted to endure heightened cylinder pressures associated with increased boost levels. Constructed from 2618 T6 Alloy, these pistons are specifically engineered to minimize mass and frictional wear without compromising strength, thanks to FSR forgings. The innovative asymmetrical skirt design not only reduces weight significantly but also optimizes flame travel for improved combustion efficiency. These pistons are securely fastened to the rods using .905 x 2.250" x .150" wall carbon steel wrist pins equipped with Tru Arc locks. It's worth noting that this block boasts a lower 10.5:1 compression ratio, making it perfectly suited for high-boost applications up to the power rating of the short block.
