RP-1: Built for Low Disc Wear and Real Modulation

RP-1 boasts good pad life, but its standout characteristic is exceptionally low disc wear, lower than virtually all other competitor race materials EBC has tested. That translates into a progressive pedal feel with genuinely unrivalled modulation rather than the snatchy bite or high noise levels often associated with other race pads on the market. Compared to EBC's other track pad, RP-X, RP-1 has a 25 percent reduction in friction coefficient across its working temperature range, which actually makes it the more suitable choice for light-to-medium weight cars, cars without an EBC Big Brake Kit fitted, or vehicles with no ABS. It's a compound built around control and consistency rather than outright bite.

Choosing Between RP-1 and RP-X

For heavy or inherently under-servoed vehicles that suit a more aggressive pad, EBC's other track material, RP-X, may be the better choice instead.
