Cast Iron, Tested to a Standard Most Brands Won't Disclose

All EBC rotors are made from OE-spec grey cast iron, exactly as used on new car production, and wherever EBC has the tooling, the rotor is wholly British-made in their own UK foundry. In fact, every single rotor EBC sells in Europe and the UK is British-made, and a majority of the designs specific to the US market are as well. EBC is refreshingly transparent that, like every brake manufacturer, they occasionally need to source some rotors from approved outside foundries to complete ranges for overseas markets, since there's no longer a single foundry left in the USA capable of supplying these parts. It's the kind of detail EBC backs up with actual testing rather than just claims.

Real Quality Control on Sourced Rotors Too

Where EBC does buy rotors in from outside sources, each one is specified, sampled, and tested for element analysis, grain structure, tensile strength, hardness, and optimum ductility, then tested piece by piece on an in-house machine to guarantee proper runout. That level of transparency and testing is more than most competing brake brands are willing to disclose about their own sourcing. It's the kind of quality control that backs up EBC's rotors regardless of exactly which foundry cast them. That's worth keeping in mind whether you're upgrading proactively or replacing a worn part.
