Just installed this on my 17 2.5 Forester Premium. Don't know if the 2.0 front suspension is different, obviously the Japanese spec is.
The side mounting flange on the brace doesn't bolt into anything on my 2.5, would definitely make a difference.
The part itself is substantially much more robust and heavy dduty than the factory. One downfall is there is substantial trimming of the plastic under tray, if you want to reinstall it. If not there is no way the tray will install properly and securely. Even with the trimming you will lose 2 attachment points, because the 2 parts remove 2 mounts for the screws.
If this brace gets in the way of my skid plate, I guess I will be losing these braces and put back the orginals.

Just like all the other Cusco parts, looks really nice and really easy to install.
