    Quality of parts very good. I like that the shifter is one solid piece of metal. Thats why I went with this kit over the others. It sketches me out seeing a shifter made of multiple pieces. You wouldn't want to be bangin gears and shifter decides to come loose. Food for thought... Coming from a professional tech: if you're doing this on the ground/ without a lift, good luck. The bottom portion of install was tough. Definently not a 30 minute job! The interior portion was a 30 minute job for sure. Problems I had- once the bushings on both sides were installed getting the bolts threaded or even started on the shifter bushing block. It seemed as if the block wasn't wide enough. It took a lot of messing with to finally get both bolts in. Tips for install: downpipe is going to be in your way the whole time- I had mine removed which made my life a lot better. Remove the transmission crossmember this will allow you to lift and lower the transmission for more room. Lower the driveshaft center bearing bolts- tight fit when installing the shifter block, if the driveshaft is lowered your life is better getting that and the bolts in. APPLY THREADLOCK/LOCKTITE TO SHIFTER BLOCK BOLTS- the stiffer bushings will make them vibrate more and definetly don't want these guys falling out. Results: very satisfied. It's not a gnarly shifter set up. Very mild and still easy to drive. I had an issue with my brand new sti having a very baby grind from 2nd to 1st at 10mph or less. This shifter setup fixed that issue. Extra Parts recommendations: "Positive Shiftbox Bushings" the transmission crossmember is coming out you should totally throw these guys in at the same time for an overall better shifting experience. This was a 3 beer job 👍

    This thing is way more solid and shorter than the stock STI short throw. The throw is so short, I forget I even shifted! (LOL) I no longer have that much play on my shifter once in gear. There is a u joint bolt you can also replace that does not come with this package but I didn’t get it. This might be good to also get so the shifter doesn’t have much play while in gear for the future. The bushings underneath the car were a bit of a challenge getting installed due to the bolt placement for the heat shield and the o2 sensor plus you’re in a tight space without a lift, but it’s not complicated. Very happy with this purchase!!!

    After doing a bunch of research it really came down to the Kartboy or Cobb short shifter. I wasn't planning on needing the height adjustment, so I just went with this set up. The car feels completely different from a driver feedback standpoint, the shifts travel very short distances and are always tight and precise. I feel a lot more confident downshifting and revmatching than with stock - it's fun. Only downside is that you will get more transmission noise coming into the car - I didn't like it at first because it felt like I was driving a less refined vehicle, but I got used to it after about a week and now, I can actually turn my music up and still feel connected to the car. This is a driver upgrade, if you love to drive, go for it. Installation was done by a local shop because I don't have wrench skills like that.
