Mediocre product at best... but damn it looks good
4/5 ONLY because it looks great installed. Otherwise would be a 1.5/5. As stated (now) in the product description, the trunk finisher will have to be modified to fit the US versions of the WRX equipped with a backup camera; which I think is all of them. This is not as big a deal as it sounds if you own a rotary tool (i.e. a Dremel or similar) but still, having to mangle a brand new $200 piece of carbon fiber before I can even test fit it makes me a little salty, but I digress. Once I had templated, taped, and removed the section of Carbon Fiber from the bottom of the finisher, I did a test fitting. Still a little off but would likely set after the double sided tape was applied, right?? WRONG. Removed backing and applied with provided tape from Charge Speed. Look OK I guess. The next day it looked wonky so I started trying to adjust it, popped right off (without damaging the stock finisher). *RAAAAAAAGE QUIT* Beast mode- Went and got 3M 1/4" SUPER HOLD double sided tape. Removed the factory trunk finisher from the vehicle (four (4) body panel retention 'thingys' inside the trunk lid; four (4) 8mm washer-nuts and a couple squeezes/taps on the retention clips to get it out). Removed the remaining double sided tape from the ChargeSpeed finisher (not too difficult actually, just roll off with thumb). Did another test fit. --The ChargeSpeed piece was about 2mm long on the back-up camera side and needed to be sanded down and polished to sit flush(ish) on the factory finisher. This may or may not have been due to the fact that I had to remove a 2 in section from the finisher before test fitting.-- Now the piece snaps onto the factor finisher pretty easily and looks pretty flush all the way around without tape. Apply the 3M SUPER HOLD tape inside the finisher. Get a friend (or annoyed family member) to hold the stock finisher by the retention bolts in the back, scream as loud as you can while pressing the ChargeSpeed piece firmly into place. If any adjustments need to be made, you have about 2.6 seconds. Press on very, very firmly and hold until pass out. Wake up, repeat. Reinstall finisher with the two (2) guide clips and the four (4) 8mm washer-nuts. Marvel at how easy this one and only step was. Close trunk, admire work. Immediately consider getting black emblems. TL;DR - Takes a LOT of modification to install properly, looks awesome once you get it on correctly.
