Cusco Rear Differential Carrier
Subaru AWD lives on rear traction. Suppress the movement of the rear differential carrier and realize very direct traction.
Linear and smooth acceleration feeling that can be experienced not only in the freedom of control during sports driving, but also in ordinary city riding that can be realized by suppressing unnecessary movement of the rear differential carrier.
Cusco reinforced rear differential gear adopts a steel box structure that is high quality, high strength and weight-conscious consideration. (Blue painted finish). Since the reinforced rubber bushings are pressed in advance, it is possible to easily traction up by simply replacing the genuine differential mount and bolt on. Particularly in recent years, Subaru cars have adopted multi-link suspension at the rear and traction by suspension is improved, but extra loss of bushings emphasizing quietness saves the original linear and light sports performance there is.
Traction up by reinforced diff mount which suppresses movement of rear differential carrier is also a great tuning part which is greatly effective. CUSCO LSD equipped vehicle has a heavy burden on the rear differential carrier, so movement will also increase accordingly, so by installing the reinforced differential mount it is possible to transmit the original performance to the road surface 100%.
On the new generation of recent Subaru cars, there have been great improvements in traction gains as well as stability in handling. Much of these are due to refinements in the multi-link dynamic geometry as well as improved electronic traction control and active management features. However, even with increased performance, there are still many compromises on a standard production car which are aimed for maintaining comfort or noise characteristics. We take these elements and further push the performance traits further.
Cusco Differential Carrier utilizes a box type construction, hand-welded by craftsmen in Japan, and is designed to bridge the main carrier subframe. Not only does it improve driveline response and torque loss, the cross section provides further chassis rigidity, resulting in a more precise suspension pinning points under load, and resisting bowing of the unibody. This carrier has heavy-duty Cusco rubber bushings pre-installed for easy installation.

Beautiful finish, beautiful fitment
By Doctor February 26, 2023So this is totally made in Japan and looks amazing. Welds and bushings were all good, and the metallic flake powder coat is amazing and looks so good on WR blue especially. I backed the rear on ramps, put blocks on the front wheels, touched a jack to the diff, unbolted the old and had this one in with less than 10 minutes of work. Not sure about added performance, but I had dead bushings so it was necessary and half the price of oem but better quality.

SUPER easy to install
By Allen November 28, 2018Nice little piece for the WRX. Super easy to install. Breaking the stock bolts loose will likely be the hardest part. The black washers that come with the differential carrier go on TOP of the holes (in the 2nd pic above). There are basically ZERO directions for installation. You'll need something to support the differential in order to get the Cusco piece put in place. Lining up the bolts that run parallel with the vehicle was a bit difficult as well.
