The WRX and STIs sold in the United States don’t come standard with a rear-facing fog light, and adding one to your awesome Subaru is a subtle change in looks that is sure to turn a few heads. The GCS LED Rear Fog Light for 2015-2020 WRX and STIs features both a fog light and brake light function, with the brake like producing an F1-Style flasher function that gives your custom Subie build some racing pedigree. The GCS Rear Fog Light Kit is available with several different lens and housing colors so that you can get the perfect look for your wicked WRX or STI.
The GCS CS-Style F1 LED Rear Fog Light for the 2015-2020 Subaru WRX and STIs was carefully designed to fit in perfectly to the factory lower valance recess without the need for trimming or drilling. The rear fog light features an OE-style housing, but is entirely powered by a grid of LEDs. The LEDs feature both a high and low power function that allows them to function as both a fog light and an F1-style flashing 4th brake light. The GCS Rear Fog Light is available with a smoked lens and black housing, a red lens with a chrome housing, a clear lens and red housing, a clear lens with chrome housing, and a clear lens with matte black housing. The GCS fog light comes with wiring with quick-tap connectors and instructions.

NOTE: Wiring for the Crosstrek can be routed directly to the tail light which has it's connectors on the OUTSIDE of the vehicle and not inside the cabin.
If you want to wire this so that it only comes on with the fog lights you'll find yourself using a pretty long run of wire.
We've made a quick connect kit which will split the wires to the passenger side fog light. Just run the wire under the driver's side fender liner, into the vehicle, and along the door sills back to the trunk of the vehicle. The insulated connectors will be placed on the F1 light harness and extension. Just connect them together and you'll have a functioning rear fog light.
Includes splitter and extension with two pairs of connectors. The plug for the female end is not pre-attached so that the wires can easily be run through grommets in the firewall area. To purchase this addition, click here.
This harness speeds up the install process. The stock wiring harness in the WRX / STI can be hard to crimp as the area is tight. Also owners who wish to return their setup to stock at any point and time can do so easily with this harness.
The harness has OEM style connectors on both ends which allows you to install this in-line with the factory wiring. 3 extensions allow you to connect the aftermarket fog / F1 lights.

The bumper cover does not need to be removed in order to install this product. Simply undo the fasteners at the bottom of the bumper cover so you can gain enough access to knock out the factory plastic cap.
We highly recommend covering the lens of the new fog light casing with painter's tape or something similar during installation. This will prevent scratches while you maneuver it into position.
Our video will help your through the installation process, but please note the wires are different on this model vs the video. For reference, the OEM tail light wiring is as follows:
If you use the fog light extension harness, the negative and fog light wires will be supplied by that harness. You will only use the OEM tail light harness for the brown wire (brake light positive).
You can wire the lamp as a solid brake light only. You would do this by connecting the fog light wire (green) on the lamp to the brown wire on the OEM brake light wire (brown). To make this only an F1 light and not run always at night, just connect the fog light wire (green) AND brake wire (red) to the brown wire on the OEM brake light wire (brown).
While many states allow brake lights that flash and then turn solid, some do not. Please refer to your local laws pertaining to this feature.
It is not required that you hook up the brake light wiring. You can run the product as a rear fog light only.
I bought this 9/21. Within 7 months one LED died, I am currently down 3 total. Seems pretty consistent complaint with this.
I've noticed I'm not being tail-gated as much anymore. The install is pretty straight forward, but it def helps to have a friend help fish the wire up to the trunk. Bought in Aug 2021 and it's still going strong.
The Model that i received in the mail is definitely not the model that is displayed on the website. I am sure that it's probably a redesign but save yourself some time and get the plug and play harness. First time using T Taps and I'm not a fan.
I installed this in roughly 30 minutes start to finish. It works perfect during night time or low light conditions, when headlights and taillights are on. However during the day it's off and the hyperflash does not work when I press the brakes. I followed the instructions to the tee and not sure if I did something wrong. I was under the impression it will light up and hyperflash anytime I press the brakes.
I've had this light installed for over a year and still works excellent. Purchased with plug n play harness as well and made install process so easy. Nice and bright. Kind of wish it would work without the lights being on. But, non the less still awesome
Had these lights since August 2020-December 2020 when half of the lights stopped working. I contacted Subiespeed regarding it and they sent a replacement. Excellent customer service. I'll be installing the replacement sometime soon. Originally, I had ordered the wrong lights. I wanted the option for the reverse option since I purchased the wiring for it, but, these lights are great. They're extremely bright and it's a must mod. Especially with everyone driving aggressive around the WRX/STI tailgating, it's good to put those people on high alert when you brake check or come to sudden stops.

Bought this and the optional wire harness. Was easy to install. Lights worked for about 6 months. Then they started worked half the time. Now they dont work at all. Was kinda upset when they stopped working.
