Perfect OE Replacements
First off, I bought a heat gun. Why spend all this money, swapping out all these emblems and badging, only to damage and struggle. Spend the $50 and buy a heat gun. Second, put down some painters tape around emblems to protect paint and finish, trying to get the tape around and just tucked behind the emblems. Third, heat the OE emblems moving across the surface for a bit, and don’t stay in one place or you’ll burn and cause bubbling on them or the paint. Fourth, work an old card or a wedge for like tinting under the OE emblems after heating and get them to begin to lift. The front one will be much more of a fight, but take your time. No need to rush the process. After working with heat and some muscle you’ll be able to pops them off. The OE adhesive has a really good stick lol. Overall the fit and finish is great. Really happy. Went with the matte finish, may put a protective finish over them as I’ve heard they start to fade after a while and i really like them, but for the price, it’s a great venture worth taking! Subaru should offer these as available OE replacements for customizability rather than cargo separators and stuff lol.
Awesome replacements... Really happy with the look of these coupled with other black fender / rear emblem replacements... TIP: Tape off the surrounding areas as getting your original emblems off can be difficult, rear isn't too bad but the front was a pain in the ass... Also, you'll need a little extra 3M adhesive for the front as it doesn't contact the right area to get that stick...
I got these in the matte black emblem/badge pack. Installation was a bit of a pain as I don't have a heat gun, so I relied on the baking SoCal summer sun and an old blowdrier to heat up the adhesives on the old emblems and peel them off. I had also gotten some adhesive remover by Turtle Wax thinking it would ease the process on the residue left over, but i was wrong. That stuff is on there good! Looking back I'm not sure what I'd do differently, but it took a good 3 or 4 times of spraying it on and waiting for it to loosen up the stuff before trying to scrape it off. Eventually I got it though and the back emblem went on perfectly. I had to get more 3M tape for the front emblem unfortunately, which is why I gave it a 3/5 for fitment. Quality is also a little low considering they're $60 for the pair. Perhaps it's not so much the quality that's low, but rather the price may be a little too high for what you get. Overall I'm satisfied and definitely do prefer them over the OEM emblems though!
After 5 months they faded! look horrible!
After 5 months they faded! look horrible! For the price this should NOT be an issue!
Hardest part was definitely removal of oem ones. Heat, fishing line, plastic pry tool. And lack of fear to break something. Overall looks awesome and very happy.
Love these emblems! They look so much better than the stock chrome emblems. Gives the car a "tougher" look.
Easy to install and looks great. Love the new look it adds to the car. Stand outs.
Really easy to install, take a heat gun and heat up the emblems and they peel right off. It really makes the car pop and I am really satisfied with them, glad I didn't go with the overlays. As others have mentioned, the front emblem does not stick properly and you will need to add some 3M double sided tape so it holds the way it should.
I applied the the vinyl overlays had to trim to fit and the ended up peeling and tearing the first car wash so im about to install on my triple black 2017 WRX to further the murder out process. im following the advise of othe other with the 3m tape
Front & Rear Emblem
Looks good on my Red WRX! I went ahead and purchased some 3M tape, glad I did. No, these are not OEM quality, but good for the price and are a quick change! Looking forward to more quality parts from SubiSpeed! Thanks!
Much better alternative to vinyl overlays. I prefer them to the OEM badge too.
These look really cool on my dark blue 2015 WRX. They are super easy to install - the hard part is getting your OEM ones off. Overall I'm VERY happy with them for the money (good value). They are not show car (or OEM) quality - but the flaws are tiny and not visible from normal viewing distances (5' or more) once installed. Only reason I give them four stars is the front one required an additional purchase of some double sided tape. I bought the good 3M molding tape and it was another $10 + tax.
Front and Rear Emblem
Looks very clean and sharp, glad I purchased them. Per the previous review, the front emblem's sticky tape does not reach. I also had to had another piece of tape. For the rear emblem, I recommend taping off around it prior to removal as to not scratch the car. Something along the lines as the instructional video showed for the WRX logo on the back of the car.
Overall Great Product! With the Front Emblem You need to go get some more 3M double sided tape, as the New Emblem doesn't touch the spot where the Stock Emblem was so the tape doesn't catch. I just added another peace of double sided tape and it finally stuck. But looks great on the front and the rear !!! Thanks SubiSpeed!
