Built for Performance
This short shift lever is built for performance without compromising comfort. It installs easily, replacing the OEM shift lever on your 2015 Subaru WRX with no modifications required to the surrounding console. The re-engineered lever reduces shift travel by 30%, giving you a shorter and crisper shift experience as you row through the gears. The shifter height is shorter by almost 2 inches and is also positioned closer to the driver by half an inch, putting the shift knob in a much more comfortable position, all while retaining full functionality of the reverse lockout.
Their shifter is compatible with Perrin shift stop as well as the factory STI short throw shifter! The shifter is designed & manufactured in Boomba's facility, right here in the U.S. and all mounting hardware are included. All shift levers are precision CNC machined black oxide billet steel and high quality delrin for maximum strength and durability. A definite mod for daily drivers as well as autocross and road racing enthusiast!

Not Bad
May have taken about an hour to install. Much better feel over stock. Please note that with 1-2 being moved over about an inch, 2nd gear becomes awfully close to the parking brake (worsened if you use anything but a round shift knob).

Pretty dope
Install wasn’t super difficult, it did disconnect from the shift cable once but that was my fault not the products, definitely recommend it makes driving even more fun

Great Product
Getting it out was pretty easy. Be careful with the mounting nuts in the shifter base, they can start to spin in the plastic cutout. I had to use an impact gun to remove just the one nut. Also be careful with the thread insert inside the shifter stalk once the base is free from the shifter rod you still have to remove the plastic cover at the shifter rod base. My insert fell out on the floor and I had to look for it for like 10 minutes lol. Other then that the job was straight forward I love this product my shifting is a million times better.

Jeff’s review is spot on
I’ve had this short throw uninstalled since last Christmas. I had some damage to my car and finally got it installed while my car was in the shop. The first day I got my car back I was really confused about 5 and 6. Didn’t find 6th gear until day 2. I’ve since gotten more muscle memory so that I don’t get caught trying to go into the original 5th and 6th gear. It’s like a little pocket that doesn’t let the shifter in. THAT BEING SAID - I actually really like the part. The shifts are much shorter and fun. I’m now looking for a new shift knob that’s maybe a little taller/ heavier. I also just ordered the Perrin shift stop on Jeff’s suggestion to see if I can clean up 5 and 6 that way. I’m not sure exactly how it will effect reverse but it’s a $35 part so I’m willing to try it out.

Changes height more than throw, should include 5+6 stop
As described, most of the transformation here is in the height. I purchased more for throw, albeit related, and should have been more careful evaluating promised change. With that said, the 30% reduction seems about accurate. Install is more in depth than other cars, including BMW X5 w/ 6 speed manual. You will want additional weight in shifter (I suggest 1+ lb) to combat lost leverage. You will find 1st and 2nd right where you left them on left, with less distance between. 5th and 6th landed approximately 1/2" from OEM shift stop. (Yikes!) The OEM shift stop cannot be adjusted any more left for proper shift stop. My solution was to remove the OEM shift stop which is semi-destructive to the OEM shift stop itself. I then used the Perrin shift stop for 5 and 6 gates which had more adjustment. This change permits perfect engagement of 5th and 6th, as well as reverse with lockout. 1st and 2nd were already flawless, so I am happy with result. In consideration of where 5th and 6th land in respect to OEM shift stop, I do not consider this an adequate kit. Boomba should have planned to solve the problem they introduced relating to later gearing.
